Meet Juan Pablo Porte, DDS, MSD
Dr. Juan Pablo Porte is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a subspecialty in custom jaw surgery. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Porte earned his dental degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
About Dr. Porte:
Dr. Juan Pablo Porte is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a subspecialty in custom jaw surgery. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Porte earned his dental degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He then completed two internships in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which led to his acceptance into the residency program at the University of Puerto Rico. During his four years in Puerto Rico, Dr. Porte received comprehensive training in facial trauma and orthognathic surgery. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Dental Sciences.
After graduating, he pursued a one-year fellowship in custom orthognathic surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Alfi. Upon completing his fellowship, Dr. Porte joined Dr. Alfi and Dr. Carrillo as a partner, offering a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery services, including wisdom teeth, dental implants, pathology, TMJ, sleep apnea, and jaw surgery.
Dr. Porte believes in connecting with his patients by taking the time to listen and understand their unique needs. He is committed to making sure each patient feels comfortable and confident throughout their treatment. With a compassionate and approachable demeanor, Dr. Porte provides high-quality care while guiding patients through every step with expertise and empathy.

Dr. Porte is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and the Puerto Rico Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (PRSOMS).
He also holds active privileges at Houston Methodist Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, and Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Hobbies and Interests:
After living in San Juan, Puerto Rico for nearly five years, Dr. Porte became accustomed to the tropical weather and enjoys relaxing by the pool (when the Houston weather allows it). He also loves cooking with his wife, doing street photography, discovering new places around Texas, and watching soccer matches.
