Three days post op she’s had little to no pain! Was doing tik toks from her hospital bed. Not wired shut or tight bands!! Totally revolutionized this surgery. Everything we googled was nothing compared to his way! So much better than expected…
Obviously I could go on and on! Thank you Dr Alfi, Dr Porte and Nurse Brandi for making her feel like she was your number one priority.
Anyway I was severely nervous for the procedure and for the anesthesia. So I called the office a few times with questions. The girls up front got more and more short with me and I did not like that.
The day of my procedure I was scared, Im terrified of needles. I told my nurse this and she was so over it. She was being so rude. I somehow had the courage to ask “um are you ok??” She said she “had a headache”. She then proceeded to painfully shove the needle in my hand. That was the worst part of the whole thing, I went vasovagal (felt like I was going to faint) and it was scary.
Soon enough this lady (maybe a different one? Not sure) came in and started pumping meds into me and I asked what was next. She told me she’d give me the meds and Dr. Alfi would come in. That was the last thing I remember- I dont even recall seeing the Dr! Those meds worked great. Next thing I knew, I woke up alone in the room all done.
I love that I have no recollection of the procedure. I was scared of waking up midway but that did not happen!!
Dr. Alfi was available via phone after the procedure and responded to me quickly. He’s amazing and I would recommend anyone go see him the 5 star rating is all for him. I just had to give 4 star because I didnt enjoy that experience w the nurse. And the front office girls can learn to be more patient w scared patients.
Also my right lower lip was numb for quite sometime after. Dr. Alfi reassured me it would be temporary. I was scared but it did in fact go away eventually (like 2 months maybe?)
My experience with Dr. Alfi and his team has been Amazing! And the results of my double jaw surgery have truly transformed my life. With easier breathing, everything gets better! This is a MAJOR surgery that I was reasonably nervous about, and I was pretty skeptical about having the promised easy recovery. But it really was easy - I had very little pain or discomfort over 6 months. And the no-chew diet is not a big deal at all. Did I already say Amazing?!?
Dr. Alfi is supremely capable and provides excellent medical care. At the same time, he creates a safe and warm relationship with patients. This was critical for me as a pretty anxious patient. He really cares about his patients' overall health and wellbeing, not just about the surgery. I am so grateful for his kindness and enthusiasm for hearing about the improvements in my life that I was experiencing after surgery.
And, as a bonus on top of all of that, everyone at the office is friendly and helpful. I always get the answers I need when I call in. I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Alfi and his team if you need oral surgical care!
